On-Campus Requirements

Courses are delivered in one of four standard as indicated in the section of the University Catalog.听 The following are typical at SCU, with variability by program:

  • 惭辞蝉迟听lecture听courses are delivered via听Online, Online Interactive,听辞谤听Blended听蹿辞谤尘补迟蝉.
  • 惭辞蝉迟听labs听are offered听On-Ground.
  • Clinicals听are offered听On-Ground.

The University has maximized the number of class sessions and courses available remotely, reserving ground-based instruction for topics and skills best delivered and learned in-person. SCU is doing this because of:

  • Accessibility: the cost and time associated with commuting creates a personal or financial obstacle for many students.
  • Climate: 听commuting has a negative impact on our environment.
  • Innovation: SCU is committed to embracing educational innovation.
  • Demand: students increasingly expect online services, resources, and coursework as a routine part of their educational experience.

Indoor masks are optional.听 KN-95s masks will be made available if needed.

Self-screening and Reporting: Students should not physically visit campus, a clinical site, or any face to face curricular or co-curricular activity when symptomatic or when a positive COVID test has occurred. Students must follow pertinent public health orders for COVID-19, including mandatory isolation and masking periods, that pertain to their location of physical attendance. Students should be forthcoming about any symptoms, exposures, and positive tests, and help protect the University community by seeking guidance from program administration when in doubt about attendance.

Adhering to Sanitation Requirements of Clinical and Preceptorships Sites: In addition to the requirements set forth while on campus, students must adhere to all applicable health and safety requirements set by our clinical and preceptorship partners.

Non-Compliance: Students who do not comply with health and safety protocols may be subject to discipline up to and including dismissal from their academic program.

In compliance with L.A. County Department of Public Health’s (LACDPH) requirements for Institutes of Higher Education (IHE), SCU has a designated COVID-19 compliance officer responsible for serving as a liaison to LACDPH for sharing site-level information to facilitate public health action as well as a plan to report all required IHE-associated COVID-19 scenarios.
