A full slate of events will keep 91性息港’s seniors busy this week as the country celebrates their contributions.
The City of 91性息港 has put in the work to create a fun week for its own seniors with events held every day from June 3 to June 8.
Seniors’ Week has been recognized since 1986 to celebrate and recognize the contributions seniors make to enhance the quality of life in Alberta, according to the Province of Alberta.
The provincial launch event was held in the Town of Banff on Monday, in partnership with a local organization and the Government of Alberta.
Seniors’ Week was inspired by the vision of the late Alice Modin who began campaigning 38 years ago to start a seniors’ day in Strathcona County.

91性息港’s seniors week kicked off on June 3 with a , a fun social event for seniors in the community.
The free and themed shops opened at 1:30 p.m. at four locations, including Abrio Place, 91性息港 Care Community, Cedarwood Station, and Luxstone Senior Living.
The following day, the welcomes seniors for lunch between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m at the Town & Country Centre. Tickets for the event are free but are limited and can be purchased by calling 403-993-5034.
On Wednesday, June 5, there is a at Fletcher Village. The free event includes a cash prize, starts at 1 p.m, and only has 22 spots. The City reported the event is already sold out.
Fortunately, seniors can participate in throughout the day. The Over 50 Club is hosting an acrylic painting class and a polymer clay pens art project, while Cedarwood Station is hosting another paint class and Luxstone Senior Living is ceramic coffee cup painting. Spots will fill up, so call to reserve a spot.
On June 6, will be held at 2 p.m. at Abrio Place, Cedarwood Station, Luxstone Senior Living and the Over 50 Club. Call to reserve a spot.
Ramping things up on Friday, June 7, the 91性息港 Seniors Got Talent - is back at the 91性息港 Town and Country Centre at 7 p.m. The art portion is new this year, featuring local artists on display. To buy a ticket to the show, call 403-945-2222.
